Front hub seal
Have a 2001 Scrambler 500 4x4. Front CV joint fell apart. I replaced it with 1/2 shaft and now the hub seal is leaking? So I ordered new hub seal and strut seal. Still waiting on strut seal to arive. My question is on the hub seal does the spring side of the seal go towards the fluid? Hard to tell on old one, time I torn it out.

Normally the spring side will go toward the center of the hub. Did you look at the o-ring that goes on the outer cover of the hub?

Thanks, and thats what I thought. I replaced the right hand side, but it was awhile back and I forgot which way it went in. It is not the O-ring seal leaking, but also have new o-rings. I herd the strut seal is a pain. I didn't replace it last time when I did the right side. So now I get to change them both.

I replaced the seals. The strut seal wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be. Put it all back together, and tested, no leaks! So took on a nice ride aprox. 40 miles. And get home still no leaks. I have tons of metal shavings in the one hub! And when on jack stand I have play when whiggling tire from top to bottom. I imagine theres a bearing in there gone or going bad. They all looked good to me when I replaced them in hub. Is this part a pressed in bearing somewhere in the hub? And is something else causeing it to wear? Thanks for any info.

Says comes with seals, I think I paid that much or more for just the hub seal.
