95 scrammy ... prob after prob..

after getting my 95 scrammy fixing it up brakes new tranny. everything appart and back together rebuild i thought it was good to go since ive never really had a problem with the engine itself....... so got it back. running goood. and all of a sudden i have a noise comming from..... the engine... um where the pull starter is...... not really a knockin.... not really a ticking...... but it sounds bad....... does it at idel. forw or rev it doesnt matter.. im not that big a quad dude.... esp on engines n trannies.. can anyone help on this...... i took the cover off and its just gears lol...... nothing seems bent or chewed so i just put it back and now its sitting...........................help
