scrambler 400 upgrading carb
ok so i heard that a lot of people upgrade the stock carb to a mikuni flatslide. i happend to find one that is a rack style off a snomobile. i have retrofitted it so the choke and the throttle cable are on 1 carb. has anyone heard of doing this i beleive the only difference is that the throttle cable is on the ouside of the carb and so is the choke. also how do i get the old boot from the airbox and the boot from the intake to fit is there a kit somwhere? if this isnt going to work its no big deal only paid 20 for the carb.

no kit i know of. i had to use a torch and heat up the boot to get my larger carb in. it will only stretch so far then you need to get creative. intake spacer between carb and intake boot.

by spacer i mean a tube in the boot with a larger boot on the other end. home made. the snowmobile carb will work fine once you get it tuned and to fit right.
yes either trimming or the spacer deal.
