4x4 and overide problem 2002 500 scrambler
I have never posted anything before, but I have found a ton of great info in here thank you everyone who contributes.
My 2002 500 has never gone into reverse with out pusing the overide. I found yesterday that when I push the override it only works in 2wd the rear tires.
I also have no 4WD I got stuck yesterday got it home jacked up the rear end and nothing. I see in the manual it asks if the light comes on I am pretty sure it never came on. I know the 4x4 worked last year.
I guess my main question is can these problims be related?
Another question what would happen if I "bypass" the REV limiter (read unplug the black wire)? My thought is no reverse at all.
Final question If I send 12V to the hubs via switch some how will that give me 4wd via the switch.
Thanks

Sounds like you need a new rev limiter. All the problems you are describing can be caused by the limiter. Does your shift indicator work?

IIRC you don't (Not supposed to) get 4WD in reverse without pressing the yellow button....

Currently I'm having a problem with the plug to the awd switch/throttle not making good contact causing no awd light and awd not working. If I wiggle the plug awd light works and awd works but I noticed yesterday the overide wasn't needed to gain more throttle in reverse. That plug may be related to the override as well. I plan to check in the near future.
