atv wheel base

I have a 05 scrambler 500 4x4 that i recently bought when i got it home i noticed that the rear axle didnt look square with the frame so i measured the wheel base and the right side measures 38.5 and the left side measures 39.5. the machine had been rolled before but none of the plastic was torn so i didnt think that it was wrecked that bad the top frame rail by the battery box is bent to the right and i inspected the whole frame and that was the only thing that i saw bent. I also have a 89 trail boss and an 04 sportsman I measured the sportsman and the wheel base was the same on both sides then i measured the trail boss and it was the same as the scrambler 1 inch longer wheel base on the left side shoul i start looking for a frame or is this normal for this machine also the tires are in good shape with no irregular wear

I think you may be okay....the rear swingarm on the Scrambler (at least the one that I have, 2003) is diagonal rather than straight back, I think this offsets that axle length with the sprocket/rear brake setup. We need someone with a mint Scrambler to take a measurement. I'm at work but I'll take a look when I get home!
