New axle in 02 scrambler grinds when put into gear
Hey guys i just picked up an 02 scrambler 500 4x4 and put a new axle in. got it all together went to put in gear and it doesnt go but it grinds alot
Any ideas??? Thanks

The shift linkage might be out of adjustment

i thought of that it does that when i have the chain on but it doesn't do it when the chain is off

i think it is but i turned the idle screw but the idle doesnt go down at all

Sounds like the clutch is engaging at idle. Take the cover off and see if the secondary clutch is turning at idle.
If so, time for a primary clutch rebuild.

Yes, take the cover off, and see if the rear clutch is turning while the bike is idleing.
