99 polaris scrambler 500

Ok first of all hi I'm new to the forums. I recently bought a 99 scrambler 500 for a pretty good price I am thinking that its been beat a little. My big question is the primary rattles back and forth about 1/2 inch you don't really hear it under any acceleration but when you shut it off it is pretty loud. There isnt any slip or any noticable difference on how it runs its just the noise. Anyone know how to solve this problem?

I have a 99' 400 sport that had that similar problem. I would start it and it would rattle a bunch. The problem was:

1) My cover case was misaligned just from old age
2) The primary spring had a couple of cracks in it. (replaced with new spring)
3) Tightened all primary bolts again after finding a few loose.
