take a peek at the back of the quad, you will see two long bolts that clamp the swing arm around the bearing carrier that the axle goes through. Loosen those two bolts up, nice and loose.

then, on the bearing carrier, you will see that molded into the bearing carrier are hexagon angles, basically, a giant nut molded into the carrier. You have to find a wrench big enough to fit it, and then you just turn it forward or backward. You will notice the carrier is egg shaped (like a cam lobe) and so depending on what you rotate the bearing carrier will depend if you loosen or tighten the chain.

do you know that amount of play that is recommended? I dont know that off the top of my head. But once you get the tension right, you just tighten those two bolts back up, and thats it.

it would certainly be easier if the quads tires are off the ground, but I can't remember how the quad needs to sit to measure adjustment. It will either be with the tires in the air, sitting on the ground no weight, or some amount of weight on the seat. I am sorry, I cant remember it right now. I will try to find the answer. Cause obviously, the chain tension will change with suspension movement, so its important it is set right, however polaris tells you to do it.

Ill try to find the answer, maybe another scrambler owner will know it and chime in to tell you.
