Scrambler 500 sputters after getting wet

The wife's 05 Scrambler started to sputter after she went PLOWING through a puddle about 12" deep. Water was flying....it looked she was in a boat !!! Anyway, after that it sputtered and coughed for about 10 minutes. Then it smoothed out and ran like normal. I checked the airbox, and it was dry. I'm pretty sure it was an electrical connection.

Anybody had this happen, or can give me good place to start looking?

Likely simply water got between the plug wire. Either at the box or at the plug itself. WD40 will displace the water. In either case is likely to happen to ANY vehicle driven like that... The cure is don't drive into water at speed...

I have read where the throttle position sensor is sensitive to moisture.

I bought a Scrambler for my wife also. She impressed me today. We had to climb an old washed out powerline. It was very rocky and steep and about a half mile long. My ass puckered as I climbed the powerline. lol

My point is it is cool when our wives share our hobbies. It's alot easier to get out and ride if we let them tag along. lol

You should be alright if the airbox was dry. When you fly into water it's bound to get into nooks and crevis and cause some kind of problem
