broke my swing arm...whoops
so like it says, i snapped my swing arm in half over the weekend. it broke in half on the left side about 3 inches back from where it bolts to the frame. i dont have like 260 bucks for a new factory part so i will be attempting to weld it back together.
does anyone know what size the bolts are on the end of the swing arm towards the front of the quad where it mounts to the frame? i dont have a socket or wrench big enough to fit it so i need to find out the size then buy the tools.
also, i havent started tearing into it yet but has anyone ever taken the swing arm out of their scrambler and have some pointers for me?

how did i break it? i wish i knew. i let my buddy ride it for maybe 5 minutes. he never got out of hearing distance and i could tell he wasnt beating it. he brought it back and let me other friend ride it...he took off across an open field and within 300 feet he stopped. i didnt know why. i walked up and the chain had come off. as i was putting the chain on i noticed the swing arm was broken....i really have no idea what happened.
...but it needs to be fixed. ASAP

I don't want to be rude but if you want some help you need to post the year,2wd or 4wd,400 or 500. That will let people know what atv you have.
I can't help you either. Never worked on a scrambler.

Look on the left frame rail and you will find the VIN number. The 10th digit from left to right is the year model.

The swingarm bolts if I'm correct are 44mm im not sure what it is in SAE but for a simpler removal take the clutches off and remove the cover connecting the engine and trans. I've replaced my output shaft before as well as swingarm so ask if you need help
