bypassing the premix
i want to bypass the premix on my 00 scrambler 400. what exactly do i need to do? jut disconnect the oil line and plug it then mix my own gas or what?
my buddy used to have the same scrambler and he said he just ran the oil tank dry then mixed his own gas and it worked fine.
so what is the proper procedure to bypass the premix?
thanks in advance

Check this site they have a block off plate for the oil pump. So you can remove the pump and tank to save a little weight.

i am planning on eliminating the premix so in case the oil pump ever goes out, my motor will still be getting oil. ive heard that in the winter when its colder out that the oil can thicken causing the motor to not get the proper amount of oil it needs to run properly. id rather just mix my own gas and know that the mixture is correct.

thats not true the oil pump and polaris blue oil is the same oil used in the snowmachines and the oil pump is made by mikuni the same company that makes oil pumps for the snowmachines.ive never seen a pump go out on the 4 wheelers or the snowmachines before.just make sure your low oil light works, and if you want to just in case you can carry extra oil and premix your gas anytime you want.you can still run both the oil injection and premix at the same time with no problem, just more smoke and you might foul a sparkplug.

They should not go. most of the time when ppl say the pump is bad it's not...
it's the Line going to the intake leaks.
