good year 500

Im in the market for a 500 4x4 scrambler. Is there any years to stay away from? What are the things to look out for on used ones.I, looking to spend bout 3000 on one. What mods are best to do?
Also how do they run in the woods compared to a 350 warrior 400 ex and a kfx700?

Sorry I can't give you any info on what year is best and worst, but as a woods machine, it's awesome. I own a 400 EX and it's great in the woods. Then I bought a Scrambler and when I was stationed in WA, the rocks, roots and mud the 4X4 really came in handy. But she will get stuck, her and I met her match on my last ride before I transfered. Thank God I have a winch on her.

I don't know if there are any years to stay away from (I doubt it since they are all basically the same), but we have an 05, and have no problems with it. I can't compare it to the 350 or 400, but I feel (with decent tires) it is as just as capable in the woods and mud as our 800 Sportsman. But sooner or later, you WILL get it stuck. Do yourself a favor and get a winch.

There are plenty of front and rear racks on the market. The best thing to do is research it, and decide which style you like best, and go for it. We have a Polaris rear rack on ours and like it.
