00 scrambler 400 not running correctly

well this is kind of a long story that im going to try to keep as short as possible. ive got a gnarly pipe and what i believe to be the correct jetting. ive never ridden another scrambler to compare mine to but it seems like mine just doesnt get into the power band fast enough. when im out riding, if i dont get into the power by the base of the hill, im screwed. i have to get a running start at every hill i come across. there have been several occasions where i have had to walk next to my quad up a hill because it wouldnt do it with me on it. it just bogs down and im screwed.

also, the throttle is kinda funny. i cant give it full throttle, it just craps out. i have to ease into it and can only give it maybe 1/2 to 3/4 throttle for it to run well.

does anyone have any ideas of what could be the issue here? carb tuning? i just dont know. i dont really know anything about 2 strokes

you need to let us know what size main you have in it now . you may want to try raising the needle a click or two ans see if that helps. most that do the pipe deal deal ,normally have to upgrade the clutch ,to work with the pipe .
