Outer Tie Rod Ends
I'm in need to replace my outer tie rod ends and notice a few sites stated "if built before 8/16/99 use this one, built after 8/16/99 use this. What was the change and how can I decode the VIN to know what I have? Is there a visual differances?
Should I take the chance to order the cheapest or just go for OEM
Thanks

Rick H; Just a quick note that may save you a ton of $$$. I replaced tie rod ends on my wife's 07 700 after I bought it. Was disgusted by how much they cost. Now have rebuilt the front end entirely with the help of some used parts and e-bay parts. Found a great parts reseller if you are interested. I bought 2 complete tie rods, with all 4 ends from an 06 700 for only $20. The parts are great. I also picked up a whole front CV shaft that was in better shape than the one I was trying to rebuild. $80 rather than $400 for New OEM. I am quite happy with the reseller. If you want, go to e-bay, advance search, and search by seller for the seller "rivergrange_powersports". If you go to his store you can look at available parts by manufacturer and model. I have bought multiple parts here and have not been disappointed. Hope it helps
