1996 Polaris Scrambler

hi Im getting a 1996 Polaris Scrambler 4x4 .I would like to know the pros and cons of it if any.I like hitting trails and going thur mud and jumping things and I dont want it to break on me lol.thanks

being a 96 are they anything I should look for before I buy it ? he said he rebuilt the engine and bored it out.also can you give me some good websites where I can buy some parts and get a magazine.I havent seen too many aftermarket parts for the 96 scrambler

I got it today and I need some help. 1st how do you turn it off AWD and what does the over ride button do ?

nice looking machine. the four wheel drive mode switch should be on the right side handlebar above the thumb throttle,this will unlock the front hubs, but on this as with all polaris's the front drivetrain still turns.
the override button is a safety thing,the engine will cut out in reverse,if you want some rpm's in reverse,push the yellow button ,also in reverse you will to push the override button to keep the front hubs locked in.

when I push that red 4wd button the awd light stays on and to go in reverse do I have to press and hold the yellow button

You do not have to press and hold the button to go in reverse. The override button simply allows the machine to have full power in reverse. If you dont push it when you back up, it will govern the engine at low rpm. Also 4x4 does not work in reverse if you do not hold override button in while backing up. As to the 4x4 light staying on.. does the 4x4 actually stay on when the switch is off?
