Reverse Overide

04 Scrambler 500. Reverse governor is overridden without pushing the switch. In other words I can ride in reverse as fast as I want without pushing the button. I've owned the bike since it was new so I know the mod was never done. Suggestions?

Maybe corrosion inside the override switch. Has to be something with the wiring

I found the answer last night from a retired Polaris technician. Apparently the rev-limiter module went out. He said he used to give people the option of putting a new one in or disconnecting the factory one. I sure am thankful for these forums!

Sounds to me like the contacts are stuck closed inside the switch sending voltage to the rev limiter.
