Scrambler head problems

I just picked up a 1997 scrambler 500 4x4 not running.The guy said he though it needed a head gasket but after replacing it , it still leaked coolant into the cylinder. When I got it home I went to just pull it over and it makes almost a full rotation but then stops.When i turned the clutch by hand the other way it does the same. Could this be the piston smacking a valve? I'm new to polaris so just wanting to know if the heads are a problem with these.

Remove the spark plug and see if coolant comes out when cranking the engine,if no coolant spews out ,it may just be the decompressor isn't working properly. Camshaft may be out of time ,also.
Either way, you're going to half to remove the head again and find out why you keep getting coolant in the cylinder, he may have bought a junk cheapy head gasket or not used the proper torque sequence on the head.
