fuel? in the breather box

I went out to start my ride and it seemed to not want to. I took the breather cover off to find a pool of fuel in the box. What the heck? Can someone help me, I want to get this done before it snows again.

Welcome to the forum. Idk what size and year you have but if it has a carb on it more than likely the float needle is stuck or worn out. Remove carb clean and replace needle seat if worn out. Clean air box,let filter dry or replace. Check engine oil if its a 4 stroke. If it floods bad gas will get into the oil. If smells like gas change oil and filter with recommended fluid.
Need more info on your atv. Year, size, etc?

Thanks, it is a 2001 Scrambler 500 and I will do the oil change but will probably have a shop do the carb work, I don't have the confidence.

It should be the carb if not the only other possibility is the camshaft. I would just about put money on the float needle stuck or bad. Has it been sitting over a month. If it has the carb is the culpret.

mine did the same thing today, mine is an 09 scrambler with under 500 miles. Mine also will now run fine without an airbox lid. I tried cleaning and already clean carb, changed out slide spring with the dynojet one and the spring. No more fuel in airbox so far, but still runs fine with no lid. No clue what is goin on. Also will run without air fliter and without lid. If the carb relies on vacuum, it must be getting it from somewhere but where?
