2000 scrambler light problem

i have a 2000 scrambler with very low hours about 10 hours. i bought it from my boss who never used it, anyways after it sat in storage for 8 years i got my hands on it had to clean and rebuild carb and clean out clutches new belt gas. shes running great battery works with eletric start took it out for a ride the other night and the headlights just stoped working i dont know if this is a common problem or not i havent really tried to fix it besides moving the wires around looking for a loose wire is there an easy fix to this?
