Oil Pressure

Is there any way to test oil flow or pressure when you fire up a motor? I had a Raptor 660 that had a little bolt you would unscrew a little on the side of the head while idleing that would seep oil to check flow to the top end. Does a 2000 scrambler 500 have a place to check that? The only thing I thought of was taking the oil return off the top of the oil tank and put a catch bottle under it to check flow.

Thanks
Will

I've wondered about the oil pressure on my 500HO, sounds like you have a good idea.

yes there is,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,there is a pipe plug fitting on the frontside/neartop of the head.must be incredibly careful not to strip the little fitting, make sure you clear things outta the way to get a clear shot, push tight against the head while turning,,,,,,,,,,,can strip very easy.might want to carefully heat the head around the plug alittle,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,stay away from the gaskets.

that plug is only to put a guage ,,,,,if you want to use it for a bleed it is 8-15 psi,,,,might be messy,do you know the bleeding procedure for the 500?its probably on a thread.
