Only has one rear brake. That's some BS. I'm disliking this ATV more everyday.

Why? The one brake is more than enough to lock the rear tires.

Fully loaded down with gear going down a steep trail. Every little bit helps. What's strange is there is a bracket for the brake lines. Have you ever noticed it only has one rear brake?

Yeah, I noticed before I bought it. Still bought it. Haven't noticed an issue once. Coming from a honda with drum brakes it stops like a F1 car.

My 08 800 is the same way with no stopping issues and I'm sure it ways more than your 570, most of the newer large bore Sportsman's are the only ones with double rear brakes.

2016 850 only has one rear brake also. The 1000 is the only one with 2 rears

Replace the pads when need be, and make sure you got brake fluid and you won't have a problem. And you only have to buy 3 pads instead of 4 so savings right there.

The machine is engineered for three brakes. There is no need for the forth brake in the rear left. I have probably changed the pads on my machine 4-5 times and the rear pads are always worn the same as the fronts. There are no balance issues with excess of lack of braking from the front or rear. You have to remember the rear is a locked or posi rear end. So there isn't a need to have two sets of rear brakes because one caliper does both wheels.

That's funny. It works! Fewer parts to maintain - you should be happy.

My stepfathers Arctic Cat is the same way. I thought it was odd too, so I started looking at other quads. Not many have dual rear breaks.
