Sportsman 700 EFI missing at high rev
Missing on upper end rev seems like the rev limiter is kicking in too soon. Any ideas? When should the rev limiter kick in?

Does anyone know at what RPM is the rev limiter is supposed to kick in? Low gear if that matters.
I checked the spark plugs and they look perfect.
Not noticing this in High gear and only in Low does this happen. Thinking it is just the rev limiter and I have never pushed it that hard in low gear.

What about if you are spinning the rear tires in hi? I mean it shouldn't have anything to do with the tranny position... What is the RPM whan it starts to miss?
Mine is just the opposite, but in fairness, I haven't pushed lo range very hard... I know I have seen almost 6K in lo. I was watching the tack as much as I could, during a couple climbs and saw 5.7K but did not have any miss. When I was back on the open trail, in hi I came around a flat corner and blipped the throttle, pushed on the side of the seat, to slid it around and once it straightenedot, I pegged it, the motor tacked up a bit too fast for the acceleration and began to miss. I was probably going 30 mph and accelerating. If it makes a difference, I have been in LO for some time at speeds to 15MPH.

I know this is a old thread but have noticed it also with my 03 and wondered if something is wrong. Its only in low seems to hit the limiter really quick. But has enough umph to get through anything.
