i have a stupid question what do i need to do to get my reverse lights to come on when selecting reverse?
I put a meter on the conntection today and when in reverse i had no power to the work light globe.
I am a little confussed with your mod. Do i need to do it to get my lights to come on when i select reverse or do i need to do something else?

this mod is what makes the work lights act as reverse lights. they dont function that way from the factory

ok thanks i had a closer look today and a found if i put a switch on the socket (under the speedo) i get power to the rear work light so this will be fine what i do with the bike (its used on or farm).
Now for the stupid question what type of globe do i go and buy for the work light. Today i went into my local auto elec to get some globes and he was unable to help me. I went to my local Polaris dealer and they told me they never had them in stock and would have to order them in. I know we are a little slower over here in Australia but surely i should be able to go into my local parts supplier and purchase some globes. (while you are answering my stupid question dont forget to tell me the wattage for the globe)

you can use either a 912 or 921 bulb. the 921 is brighter, so that is what i used. i got a pair of them for $5 from the local parts store

when i do this mod and have the switch off so i can go int diagnostic mode does it go back to the way it was before and shut down the motor when in revers so i dont need to worie whe n my kid is riden it

Yes, with the switch off all the limiters are just like factory.

just finished doing this to my 08 800, works EXCELLENT thanks for the write up, dont think i woulda ever figured that one out myself (I HATE WIRES haha) so happy to be able to use my rear winch and still be in 4X4 and never to have to push that button for 4X4

ok i have the pod off and there is 2 plugs on the speedo and there is 1 that is there with nothing pluged into it
is the 1 that does not have anything pluged into it the one i need
