OK,
I got it!!
Was three things... My ground wire had a bad crimp, I have no solid brown wire in my speedo harness and I miss read part of the description for the wires running to the tranny. Once I got that it worked perfectly!!
My problems where likely mostly my faulty brain. (Literally!) That coupled with the different colored wires made it needlessly confusing. I am more used to connecting relays with the numbers than colors and tripping with pos not negs... That was simply getting my brain wrapped round it sufficiently.
But it works like a charm now!!!

Its straight forward and correct. If you follow these directions, it will work.
Two of my problems where my own, the bad connection and the wrong wire. The Brown wire in the speedo was brought up by another member. I didn't take heed as mine was the same year as O.P.s (2007) and a 700 where his was a 800... BUT even that was just a ground wire, I knew that but had it in my head it HAD to go to another wire...somewhere. After walking away, I said to my self, "Dumb-ass, a ground is a ground...ground the wire!" I did and its fine!

I got to ride today!! This mod is working 99%!
I do have a question... If I shift lazily and linger at all in rev... the pod changes as if someone pushed the yellow button. Sometimes I cannot scroll with the yellow button when this happens... I need to shift back past rev and into a forward gear to gain proper access. Again, ONLY seems to happen if I dawdle when shifting past reverse...Shift rapidly, NO problems...
Its like the switch has been switched off for diag mode, but it has not.
Any ideas???

I dont know if there is really a positive and or negative on a relay coil untill you hook one up then the other becomes the opposite of what you just hooked up. As for the confusion I used to get confused when people would use the 87 as the input and 30 as the output.... as the 30 is the common terminal. But once I drew one out without numbers and really looked at it it became easy to see how these can be used for so many applications, reversing polarity, positive or negative switching, normally open or closed curcuits....
Im sorry I said the brown wire as mine was the 800 that prolly confused you in my discription. Glad its all working for you now!

This is the first time i've ever posted on any forum. Although i've read hundreds if not more and use them for almost every project I get myself into. I've always had a pretty high success rate just following someone's instructions. This was no exception. I've performed the three headlight mod and it works perfect! Best Mod to do. I also have performed the reverse light and override. It all seems to work as described. My only question is, it never displays the R when I'm in reverse and it doesn't say SLOW. This is either way, switch on, or switch off. Other than that it works in every way. The auto scroll works, the reverse lights come on when in reverse and even when in another gear by pushing the yellow button. Did I do something wrong? I've retraced and reconnected every wire a dozen times and everything seems to be correct. I even made sure I had the correct relays. Any advice would be awesome.
Great write up BTW. Awesome mods!!

I'll bet it would work on the 400 but I would also say NO they will not match... BUT if your willing to tryal and error I think you will get it! I bet ALL will not be different... Even on mine I had problems with one wire, but intentionally got it!

Hey fellows I was wondering if I could use the overide button to activate a relay to turn on my work/reverse lights? The main reason I ask is because my bike did not come with work lights or any of the factory wiring (2011 400HO). So to make the wiring as simple as possible (and the availability to turn the lights on as needed, Even in P,N,H whatever) I was wanting to use the overide button to turn them on.

You probably could do that but I don't know if the button could handle all of that wouldn"t a specific switch be better?
