I've had my eye on both as well. I've seen the box in person at the dealer but I didn't have the bike with me. It looks like it would cover the hole completely... it is just massive. Do you think your buddy would let you do a fitment check? If so, please post a picture... my 500 should be the same layout as your 800. I'd like to know the true result too. The bag looks like a good buy too. I have a gift certificate coming from the dealer... thinking about just going for it with the "behind the seat" bag.

Edit... sorry, just remembered you don't actually own the 800 Touring just yet. Also, according to the Polaris website, the bag is fitted for both the XP and regular Sportsman.

What would be great is if someone made a drop in piece that would simply "fill in" that crater in the rear rack so as to turn it into a more complete deck like a 1-up machine. Does anyone know if such a thing exists?
