I am kinda getting tire of seeing 3-7 year old ATVs that they are still asking 3000-6000 for.

I am getting closer to just getting a new 500HO. I just need to find the dealer that will sell one to me for 5200.

2004 700 Sportsman

Newbie here. Not sure how to start a new thread, but will give this a shot. Bought a 2004 carburated 700 for $3100 with 1000 miles in great shape. Slight shake in the front end, so decided to change front wheel bearings. (found cheap on net from Boss Bearings for $40 for both sides) My question is that i found slop in the front axle bearings by wiggling the axle shaft and wondered if this was normal ? Also, if i need to replace the bearings, do i need to remove the entire front differential or can i just remove the axle shafts (not sure how they come out yet) or can bearing replacement be performed without removing the diff.

Being told the axle shafts can be pulled out by a pickle fork, as they held in by a circlip, but also told the front housing needs to come apart and than it exposes a pin that need to be driven out. One CV joint and than the U-Joint which is directly into the front differential.

Newbie got many questions for sure, willing to listen from advise from those who been there / done that

Thanks

Chris that is a bit high considering mileage and the wear on the tires. Id offer him 3K at the most if he doesnt budge keep hunting there are deals everywhere. Its just a matter of patience and higher expectations. Good luck and let the forum know when ya get your new machine.
