Sportsman 700 EFI Bogging

Hi there

I am new to the forum and am looking for some help. I have a sportsman 700 EFI. I believe its a 06-07. It will not rev above 5000 rpm even at full throttle. Almost like its in some kind of limp mode. Every once and a while it will get half second blips of power and then at one point during the day i had full power for about 2 minutes. I added new fuel to it part way through the day and it helped a bit. I wanted to get your opinions before i started taking things apart. I think its either the fuel filter, fuel line or spark plugs. The battery is fully charged. Probably was bad fuel then plugged the fuel filter??

Thanks

I worked on an 06 500 that had a similar problem. It would run good for a few minutes and then start bogging down under half to full throttle and for a few seconds would run good. After doing a tune up and changing the fuel filter and getting nowhere, i noticed if i turned it off for as little as 30 seconds it would run good again for a few minutes and then i decided it was the fuel pump getting hot and not making enough pressure. I swapped the pump out and it hasn't missed a lick since. Not sure this is the same problem you have but definately worth checking into.

Also might want to check the battery connections which if loose can make computer controlled engines do funny things and the sensor between the throttle body and the intake is a problem on some models from the wire loom rubbing through the wires.
