Could be your float is stuck in the bowl of your carburetor

What are you calling "overflow tubes"?

There are vent lines on the top of the carb and a bowl drain at the bottom. If yours is carburatated. Then there is vent lines for fuel tank.
If working properly, None should expel fuel.

Let us know where you found the fuel escaping.

Mine does the same thing if i fill it up before trailering. I figured out its the the vent line from the fuel tank. The vent line is routed up thru the pod before going out the bottom of the wheeler.

x2 on the tank vent line. I've even seen fuel sloshing around in the line right after filling up and riding. Russ is right, you should always close the petcock when trailering although this won't help with tank vent reflux.

Same thing happened to me one time. Freaked me out, I also had gas in the air box. The petcok was off during transportation, just emptied the air box and was good to go.
