Tires and wheels

Im thinking about getting some new tires ans wheels for my sportsman. I think I want the Maxxis Bighorn or the superATV's Dominator tire on some ITP SS212 wheels.

Where is the best place to get tire and wheel combo's? I notices there are a couple sites that have about $100 price difference on the wheels...

are there better tires than what I have picked? Any help would be appreciated

Better tires would depend on your riding style. For me I do a lot of "trails" or soft pack roads, some hard pack when I do rides with groups and friends, I like to play in the mud and want good traction on lose ground since I like to climb stuff. Of course snow plowing traction is a must too. A must for me was a tire that would be able to run even when flat which means at least a 6 ply sidewall, I ended up with an 8 ply this time.

After doing a bunch of research I ended up going with the GBC Spartacus cause they fit the use I wanted. They are a tight enough tread to run smooth on hard stuff but open enough for the lose traction. I only have a couple hundred miles on them so far but I am very happy. I went with a Vision 159 wheel. I got mine from a supporter here, Discount tire. Nice thing is they come all mounted ready to go.

Thanks for the input guys!

I just got back from the dealership. Now, normally I always order online, but this dude cut me a deal I couldn't refuse, at least I think its a good deal :P

I bought these:

ITP SS108

and these:

Maxxis Abuzz (similar to the Big Horns)

also I thought I needed this:

full exhaust. Evo Big Gun

I went with these tires for a few reasons, I ride everywhere, except super deep mud, and I dont "go deep" I need something for soft, hard, loose, and sand. It appears this type is best for that. I chose these over the Big Horns because with the shouldered lugs they are supposed to be better at cornering.
I had a hard time deciding between the SS212 and the SS108, but EVERYONE has the 212's.

I know what I'm going to be doing this weekend :P

Why do they not fit? Different lug spacing? Or does the rim rub on any components?

They dont fit because of studs to short and they pop off the center cap by the axle nut. They are the right bolt pattern

Maybe someone would know more than me, but it sounds like wheel spacers might do the trick.

Polaris Sportsman : ATV Wheel Spacers : Super ATV LLC

Call those dudes, they can help you out.

You have studs designed for steel rims, Thor or one of the other site sponsors can hook you up with longer studs designed for ALLOY rims!
Drop them a line...

As for the tires, I have 26" Maxxis BigHorns and love 'em!!
