How to get spare key

Lost my black rubber key. I still have spare key but I want to get a few more in case I lose one again. I would like another key with a black rubber cover also. Do I have to get this from a Polaris dealer and if so can I get it from any dealer or does it have to be the one I bought my polaris from?

need a spare key

Looks like a visit to your nearest dealer is in order if your looking for one with the black rubber.

Thanks!!! I will call tomorrow! Thanks for the welcoming also. I'm pretty pumped about my new bike and had to learn more about it. Sucks that I already lost one of my keys though.

Yep, your spare key will have a 4 digit serial number on it, that the dealer will use to match up the correct key blank. The new key will not have this serial number on it, so dont lose that number. Its not the end of the world, but it makes it much easier for the dealer. The rubber key boot is seperate. The dealer should have both in stock. Some can cut keys, some cant. If they dont cut them, just take the spare and the blank to a locksmith and they can cut it easy peeezy.

...and my key cover - keyswitch and key blank are ordered from cheapcycleparts. The shipping seems to be more reasonable.

Just had one made about a week ago. Three bucks at the local locksmith. Handed him the key, said I need a copy of this. He said, "Polaris, huh?"

eBay crooks!!!!!!!!!

I once tried to buy a blank key for my sportsman on eBay from some motor spare shop. They took my money but never sent the key! Crooks!!! I tried to report this to eBay, they said it was too late to complain! But the seller kept on telling me "wait a little longer it's is on it's way". After waiting 3 months suddenly it was "too late" to complain!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got mine done at a locksmith a while back, he gave me his business card with the Key Blank # and the "Cut Code" so that if I ever lose ALL the keys, I can go to about any locksmith and get new keys.

If you are going to a locksmith, ask for this, may save you in the future!
