i had a half tank of gas in my machine, and didn't know i had the fuel switched to reserve. so i ran it out of gas in reserve, but still had a half tank. i switched it to on, and now i can't keep it running. what could be the problem?

sounds like your petcock extender is turned 180* out. Mine was like that. So reserve was on an on was reserve. So if you ran out of gas while it was actually in the on position then turn to reserve it should have started running unless: The reserve pickup has a short tube screen that gets clogged with trash from the bottom of your tank preventing it from sending fuel through the petcock. If you want to check this remove your tank and remove the petcock from tank(2 bolts).
