Touring seat belt
Just wondering if anyone has came up with adding a seat belt to the touring models? When my son is on the back he is secure but a seat belt would add some peace of mind.

I honestly don't know if I would recommend that. I don't know your son's age or size, but I think there could be some significant drawbacks in being restrained on the back of a heavy quad. It will be interesting to see what others have to say.
Before you go further, perhaps you could talk to someone at the ATV Safety Institute for their opinion.

Bad idea! If something happens you want him to be able to bail & not have the quad roll on top of him!! I would suggest getting a box that suronds him. It is much safer IMO. We have a box that will soon be released here in the states for the touring.

Also agree this is a bad idea. There is not a protective cage around him like a car would have. So if you got into a crash, you want him to be able to separate from the machine.
I think a seatbelt would like cause him to be seriously hurt or killed in the event of a rollover.
Same reason they do not have seatbelts on motorcycles. It is much safer for the rider to separate from the machine in the event of an accident.

Great point guys. I never thought of it as the atv flipping but with the passenger physically falling off.

I agree, IMO a seat belt would be a bad idea in case of a rollover or a flip backwards.

Unless you plan on adding a roll cage don't even consider tying your son to an 800 lbs. machine. Maybe you should look at a side x side.

I would not dream of driving so aggressive that my passenger, no matter how large or small they were , would need a seat belt. Aggressive driving is for single riders...IMO.
