You do not need a programmer for all EFI engines. Some maybe, but they will run just fine without them. Have had exhausts on both my 700 grizz and 800 sportsman.

Does anybody know if the grab bar 2875550 will fit the 2011/12 500 HO ? These parts are pretty cheap on ebay. Polaris book says it fits 2005-2008 machines.
When i look up the 2008 500 HO sportsman, it shows the waterproof rear box under the fender....I'm not seeing that on the blue machine atvking has posted.

Mines a 2003 and the only thing I had to do was add the bolts to hold it on instead of using the self tapping bolts provided. As long as your machine has the two bars coming down off the rack where the grab bar mounts it should fit.

when you put exhuast on it does no good unless you change the air box and filter in some way to let more air in. and yes you should have it remaped or a programer of some kind to correct the fuel curve. The stock set up will only correct so much. So yes it could be running lean.
