polaris sportsman high miles

Would anyone be worried buying this rig with 10,000 miles on it? "Polaris sportsman 500 4x4 new plow and winch, good rubber, heated hand grips, No smoke runs good and is very clean with a winch and a plow for $2000"?

FWIW many people use them like a motorcycle out here as they are street legal. This one spent a lot of time running errands in town.

If it has been well maintained and not abused iwould not worry about it they are a very well built strong dependable bike. I had one and wish I never sold it. Where are u that they are street legal?

ATV's are street legal in Montana......................

Thats awsome here in Saskatchewan we dont even plate them yet can not wait till the day.Did you buy that sportsman?

Well i brought it home for $2000. He wouldn't budge as It has a brand new Cycle Country plow on it that has never been used until tonight. Plowed the drive out good! The only issue i can see is the trans does not like going forward to reverse. If it goes in forward good it don't go into reverse worth a darn. If you adjust it till it goes into reverse good it don't go into forward for crap. Blip the throttle either way and it goes in with just a tad bid of noise. BTW, It has 14,300 miles on it! (had 10,000 on it when he bought it) Just had the primary and secondary rebuilt as well as a new belt 300 miles ago.

One question, The guy has the fan on a toggle switch. Says it was that way when he bought it. I can just turn it on and leave it run but i would rather have it automatic. Don't know if the idiot light works though so is there a way to put a manual temp gauge on it??

Ya shoud be able to get a temp gauge and fan overide switch for it I got mine for my 06 from http://www.quadovator.com/

I got the same looking atv in a 99 with a moose plow and 1500 winch for 1700 with 5k miles on it. And new executioner mud tires. The problems are I had to put new brake pads on it, and it had a snorkel kid cause the guy mud ran a lot but he had proof that he changed the oil every 50 miles with a box full of the same oil filters that look clean to me. He took good care of it but he really wanted a snowmobile.
