Need advise 800X2

Looking to buy my fist quad and have been looking and looking and I found a 2006 Polaris Sportsman 800 X2, machine has about 200 hrs and 500 miles on it. Owners brother gave to him since he didnt use and he rarely uses it on his farm as per him it is too large engine size and heavy for the purposes they need and they have other ATVs they use.
I looked on KBB to get a idea of what these are going for yet the option for a 2006 800X2 was not avail on KBB. He is asking $4200 for it however I can not just go look at it since it is about 4 hours away, well I can but I sure would hate to make the trip for nothing.
Any thoughts on this year, price, and most of all machine. I plan on using around the yard, not much trail but I will some, maybe plowing, but mostly to screw around with my kids. I am a bigger guy, 6'4" 300lbs, dont want to get something I will regret.

Thanks

I had close to 2500 miles on my '07 800 X2 when I sold it for $5700 last February. Never had any problems with it. It is a great machine.

its a GREAT machine...
you wont regret it... as for price... it varies greatly... and used quads cost alot (do not loose much worth in time)

as for and 800 just to mess around... well... it might be too big for you aswell...
the machine was made to work...
has alot of power and such.. might be abit dangerous for your kids if they are those "crazy" kids that arent afriad of anything and dont want to learn...
its great for plowing. really great for it...
its amazing for trails aswell, unless you have some super tight trails that these bigger machines dont fit in...
it will be great for comfort for you aswell... as well as the 2nd passenger......
the price seems to be OK... just check it out before you buy... make sure it runs... and take the time...
if the owner says the battery is dead, charge it... no gas... fuel it up abit... ive seen many people go as far as pretending to live someplace.. and sell something, then leave and the owners come back from vacation to find everything in tact but some people theyve never seen show up and yell at them...
also check the paperwork.. i usually never believe "my uncle gave me, my brother, mother , father gave it"
or things like "i dont use it " and so on... so priority i to check if it runs and then if the papers are OK...

hope i helped. you wont regret the purchase if you get it....
feel free to ask questions i also have a x2 800 but 2007...
