2011 800 efi uni air filter worth it???

Hey guys im SURE this has been brought up but, was just going to ask if its worth the 30$ to put a uni air filter in my 800 popo. Will I actually get some HP gains? Thanks as always for any input

Your HP gains will be zip but for $30 you'd have a filter that can be washed reoiled and reused dozens of times rather than a $15 stock filter that you use once and throw away to be replaced with another $15 stock filter.

good filters

Unis are good filters as I have one on my 500 sportsman and i will agree with the previous response, after you buy a couple of paper filters the Uni will be paid for. I am happy with mine because I can clean it after every ride.

No on the horsepower gains, but yes to getting the filter. Filter is reusable so will pay for itself.

I have tried them all K&N, Uni etc and non of them seem to work any better then the stock one on a stock machine. The Uni is a great filter if you don't mind the hassel and mess of cleaning it all the time, and the cleaner and oil is not cheap in the long run. I would not run a K&N on a lawn mower let in way to much dirt. I have just gone back to stock.

Problem with the stock filter is if you get water in your airbox out on the trail, the filter is trash and you are stuck without a filter. If you have a k&n or Uni and it gets wet, you can just shake it out and/or put it under the exhaust of another machine to dry it out and get back on the trail.

I use a filterware pre filter over my stock filter and it is somewhat water repelant, but since I don't use my machine like a boat or a submarine I don't worry about the water issue to much.
