Braking

One question I happened to notice when I use the brake lever on my sportsman 800 2012 the rear lights turn on when I use the foot brake only the light don't turn on in the rear is this normal ? Would like some help on this.

I just checked the manual and it says that's an auxillary brake is that also linked to the parking brake hand brake on handlebar ? So I shouldnt worry then thanks .

Look at your master brake cylinder and you'll see if it has, on its end, brake switch. It's easy to understand if it has it as you'll see something like big nut with 2 wires comming out of it. You have one switch on brake lever and I doubt you have the other one on the master cylinder too. In my case it was the other way arround. As european model, I only had one switch and it was the one on master cylinder. The problem was that brake light would come up only if I brake very hard. So I added brake lever switch and soldered it in parallel with master cylinder switch so they both work. But, if I didn't have one on the master cylinder I would never bother about it.

I noticed this on the project I am working on. I find it odd that all Polaris's (Polari) are like that. Most ATV's have a switch on the brake pedal too.

That's fine I just wanted to make sure nothing is wrong with it since it is brandy new I guess it's like a emergency brake on a car lights only come on when brake pedal is depressed .
