98 sportsman 500

I picked a new to me 500 the other day and the clutch pack makes a terrible rattling noise at idle. I know that some is common but it's wearing grooves into the clutch. Also what else do I need to check while I'm going over the bike. I've changed the oil and plan on doing brakes, radiator, cv axles in the next week.
