A-Arm qestions

hi, i have a 2009 sportsman 800 EFI HO. I am designing and building my own metal guard instead of the plast ones on back and front. Im using diamond plated aluminum.

MY QUESTION IS:
Is it better to make them go under the whole a-arm and be flat on the bottom!? or just mount to the front like the plastic ones do. Im questioning because will that hold mud, sand, and other debre around my driveshaft!?
If anybody has them, can you give me some advice!?
THANKS!

hey its better to have it factory i say this because ive seen quads out at my local mud hole have home made mods like that it harder to clean most just quickly take them off then clean but could ruin your sleeve if u do trail riding cause of rocks and tree limbs that get caught up in the area just depends on your riding would say better to keep factory if u do all around

Make sure to cover the bottom as well, rinsing out mud ,is cheaper than a torn cv boot any day of the week.
