Komodo ATVMFC ATV Multi-Fit Carrier - Walmart.comgot one of these for Christmas but haven't installed it yet. I figured it would be ok for a cooler on the short rides and a gas can on the longer ones!

I have a full-width droprack on mine. Adds a lot of cargo room but be careful of the weight you put in it especially on steep inclines. Adds 15 inches to length and weighs 40 pounds.

Here mine on the wife's machine!(daughter messing around on it) Anyways this one is adjustable up and down. This is in the low position I ended up putting it up in the higher position.
found it here,
Guide Gear Atv Rear Drop Basket, Atv, Guide Gear, Guide Gear Rear Atv Drop Basket at Sportsman's Guide
I did have to do some fab work to the part that sits over the rack/seat area. If you look close I cut off a section of the expanded metal where it would have gone over the seat and welded some square tubing to reinforce the the expended metal.
If I did not do this, I would have to remove the rack to remove the seat.

I would not be climbing any steep hills with that extra weight behind the rear axles. That system will make the ATV very light in the front.

I have a cargobox full of tools, spares etc. on the front rack and I carry a 2.5hp Merc in front of the cargo box above the bumper so it balances out. Without the cargobox and outboard, I agree with you especially since you're usually in low gear and my 500HO is hard to throttle smoothly in low. Bit skittish.
