4x4 reverse

Took bike out or the first time today. I tried 4 wheel drive the only time the display shows its engaged in reverse I when I hold down the override button. Is this typical? Is there anyway to have it engaged without holding the override button?

Thanks

What model? That doesn't sound right.

Well on my 850 X2 the "R" flashes when I put it in reverse but it does show up. I thought I reviewed the owners manual thoroughly. My manual indicates that a symbol "---" means its not completely in gear but doesn't mention the flashing that I remember. I didn't notice what it did when I hit the RPM limit over ride button.

I'll try to make time to go back through the manual again. I'll also try the over ride button in reverse to see what the display does.

Maybe some one else will chime in.

4x4 only works in reverse when the over ride is pushed on certain models

The 500's are setup so u have to push the override in reverse for AWD, I know there is a way to get around the override button but I can't remember how

Dealer told me on my 11 800 EFI that you had to push the override button for the AWD to work in reverse, he said it was the ONLY WAY the AWD would work in reverse

+1 on the kit. I have ordered it but have not installed it yet.

My ATV-GURU bumpers ARE FOR SALE, front and rear, BRAND NEW. Me a reasonable offer and they are YOURS.

(As you probably already know, they are currently unavailable from TheAtvSuperstore.com /ATV-Guru for an undisclosed amount of time).
