Few Question on Lifting my 800
Iam looking to lift my 2010 sportsman 800. Here is a link to a small lift i found.
Polaris Sportsman Lift Kit 500 600 700 800: 1999-2011 | eBay
Is this what i would need? How hard is it to install a lift like this? Are there any issues after a lift like this? Should i be looking for something better than this? Sorry for all the questions new to the site just ready to do some mods to my atv. Thanks in advance for any help

Not that hard to do???? Could a 60 year old man do it by himself??? Will it cause any undue wear and tear on the machine? I only use mine for plowing snow and riding to ice fish, which is normally a 25 mile round trip.
Something like this looks like it would really help me with plowing, as I would assume that raising the front end 2" on my 2011 Sportsman 800efi, would also raise the blade 2" too. I purchased the Glacier III plow and it works fine so far. However the wear bar SUCKS. I plan to do the same as my other machine and head to Alro Steel and pick up a piece 1/2"x4"x60" and replace the original, which after only a couple times used, it almost worn to the blade.

I had considered doing the lift...but I have no interest in upgrading axles and such....I know some people say they have put it on with no problem, but I'm in that group that would have excessive wear on axles and would end up with some broken parts to replace...

don't upgrade your axles until you have to and when you do I recommend superatvs rhino brand axles cheaper than gorillas and are fine if your not a heavy throttle rider

I have never seen that kit installed before, but I can tell you that if it does lift the front the full 2" then there is fabrication involved. You have to grind the front struts around where the axle goes into the hub. When you change the angle of the axles the boot rubs on the strut and wears through the boot. And as far as The rears usually last fine, but the fronts will break. Especially if you are running those silverbacks like you intend. And do not waist your time or money on the rhino brand axles. My stock front axles lasted 5 mins. after installing the lift, and my rhino brand lasted about 16 hours. Get gorilla or turner.

agreed, i am still running my stock axles and have been in some pretty deep stuff. just be careful with the throttle. If you do upgrade, go with the gorillas!!!
