From what I've read on here, a simple exhaust swap really wakes up the 800efi. Howeveer it also wakes up the decibel level as well. Big Gun, Hot Seat Performance, HMF are a just a few. I would also think that a free flowing air filter would also help, but I need to research more in that department. My question is how much modification can you get away with before you have to retune the ecu?

My intention was to get an 850, but i found this one with 102 miles on it for 4600 cash. Seemed like a good deal to me.

That's a great deal! I have seen 06 800's for more than that! The 800 seems to be a good proven engine and bike.

Modified stock muffler on 2011 Sportsman 800

I'd take a look at that thread before you go buying a new exhaust system....I'm in the same boat as you, I just got some wheels and tires and have already noticed some power loss so Im also looking into an exhaust and maybe a K&N air filter. If that doesn't work then I may start looking into some clutch kits.

(That's because there's no room in the front part, it is taken up by a super high tech three wheel drive system that senses which tire is stuck on the rock so that it can send power to the other front tire that is up in the air.)--Can Am owner

Ia looking at exhaust rightnow aswell, my 800 is already kinda loud doesnt bother me but the last thing i wanna do is make it unberable to ride enjoyably. I have a son and wife we like to do alot of trail riding. Anyone have or heard of a nice exhaust thats not much louder than m stock? Also the k@n filter is that just a new filter or a hole new setup? thanks

A K&N filter just replaces the stock air filter inside your air box. Since you replace your stock filter every time you get your ATV serviced, a K&N will save you money in the long run since you can clean and re-use the K&N at any given time.
