I'll be honest, I don't have a clue how efi works, even on my own 800efi. However on my 400, I took it in where it was warm and let it thaw, then popped the cap and worked WD-40 down the cable. I kept everything from the WD that I could. I just kept working the throttle cable and squirtting WD down it. It was a long process, or seemed like it but, its never frozen again.
Just before going out to do the above, I called and ordered a new cable. Its still in the unopened package and its yet to freeze up again in three years.
