Does warranty cover the battery?

I bought my Sportsman 800 in August(5 months ago to the day). If the temp is below freezing, I have to use a jumper pack to get the engine running. I believe the battery is defective. The factory warranty is 6 months. Do you think I should be able to get the battery replaced under warranty?

Will not hurt to try. Although its recommended to keep batteries on a battery tender if your not riding that much to keep the battery topped off.

The longest I've gone is 2 weeks without riding the machine. It is usually started every 2-3 days.

Sounds like a bad battery, I would take the battery back to the dealer and have them load test it. A battery tender is a good idea in cold temps-those little batteries are fussy. You can get a Schumacher tender at Tractor Supply for about $20. It comes with a pigtail you can attach to the battery for quick hookup.

This^

Atv warranty doesn't cover batteries, but yuasa offers a 6 month warranty on their batteries, so you still should be good if you go do it now at the dealer.

I have a trickle charger, but there's no reason to use it when I start the machine every 2-3 days. My old Sportsman 600 would start at -20 without a trickle charger. I rode my 800 yesterday(had to jump start it). If I went out there now, I guarantee it would have to be jumped again. I have an appointment for next Tuesday at the local Polaris dealership.
