I bought this "97" 500 with 291mi on it from a guy. I paid $350. Didnt run. Well i have it running and fixed all cosmetics. The Quad looks great. I got one Heck of a Deal. However, I have been really contimplating doing the Carb and Cam upgrade to a 500 HO. Can anyone tell me if it's worth it? Power Gains? Easy to do? ect....

We did it on a 500 motor we put in a 425, but we also put an 11:1 compression piston in it and had the head ported and polished, not a 500 HO that touches it up to 50 then I run out of rpm
when the factory made the changes, they said 25% more hp, and I can tell you there is quite a difference, can look on cycle parts warehouse under 2001 or newer 500 ho for prices, need cam, 40mm carb and carb boots
