Sportsman 450 issues...

Ok last night I installed a new winch on my 06 450. After I got done I tried to turn the key and nothing happened, it just acted like the battery was dead. Battery was good at 12.5v, tried fuses but apparently there arent any on my model, then traced it up to the ignition switch. I unplugged the switch and ran a short little jumper wire from the hot battery wire to the solenoid wire and the engine turned over fine. I could also run the same jumper wire to the speedo display and it would come on just fine as well. After buying a new ignition switch however it did the same damn thing. I then traced to the logic box which I am getting power into the box but nothing out of it. So I am kinda thinking this is were my problem is but im not sure. After reading on here some I have seen the thing about the ecm recall but mine is not fuel injected so I am not sure if it will apply to me or not. Im gunna call the dealer in the morning and check anyhow. I am hoping someone has had similar problems and could lend me a hand. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

If all worked before the winch I would be inclined to believe the issue lies in the install wiring. Possible how you are drawing power for the switch? Or maybe how power is drawn for the winch?

Well that was the first thing I disconnected since that was the only thing that was changed. I just used the normal factory winch wires from the battery so I cant see how there is something shorting there. It is still acting the same way even with the winch completely disconnected unfortunately. I have spent forever tracing wires and what not and havent got anywhere. I called the dealer and mine was under the recall but it was already brought in and fixed. The ECM is the only thing left that I can think of that would be stopping power from getting to anything. Thankfully my dealer has one in stock but I dont want to buy it unless im sure thats whats going on since they praly wont accept a return on it.

have them check the ecm again, mine was under recall, it was changed with one off the shelve, it turns out it was bad to so after three ecms mine is running fine now. the first time it failed just the electric stuff(winch, lights, fan) wouldn't work but it would start with the recoil starter, second time it wouldn't even start

Well turns out it wasnt the ECM. It seems the the red kill switch on the left hand side of the handlebars is bad. So rather than pay 70 bucks for an entire new unit I just ran a jumper wire to bypass the kill switch so I can still use the lights and the reverse/override switch. I dont ever use the red kill switch anyhow and everything seems to be working great now. Rode for 3 hours or so this afternoon and she ran just like normal.
