Sportsman X2 700 Stuck in Reverse in a Field
I was driving my Sportsman X2 700 in a field when something happened. I had stopped, and was slowly reversing. I went to go forward and I can't move the shift lever. The back wheels were turning and I had to put my brake on to hold the vehicle. I turned it off. Now of course I can't start it because it is stuck in reverse.
Questions:
1. Any idea what has happened? Is the belt broken?
2. Is there anyway to pull a pin so I can try to push the ATV to someplace where I can load it up to get it home or to a repair shop?
3. Any other advice for me? I am new to ATV ownership so maybe I am not asking the right questions?

Just try rocking it while trying to shift it. Sometimes if there is pressure on the transmission it will be hard to shift. Just like if you park your car on a steep incline and don't use the e brake it will be hard to shift from park into gear.

If the X2 is in gear you can start it by applying the hand brake.........good luck with the problem.
