Need information on changing water pump and oil seal

Not sure if there is a thread already on this or not but How hard is it to change the water pump and oil seal? I read about a special tool that is needed and only available to dealers. Is that the case or can I do it at home?

Don't mean to rob this thread, but I have a 05 Sportsman 700 with the same problem. Are these two made the same and if not will I still need the special tool to replace the seal?

Yes, the mechanical seal as well as the seal behind it and the oil seal. I am going to replace those three. Hopefully this will resolve the issue. I ordered them last night. Without the tool, what is the process and is that tool only available to Polaris dealers. I have a friend who is the head tech at another local powersports dealer and he has a tool I can do it with. Will his work?
