First off, what axles are you running? Secondly, are you sure it is a gorilla lift? What kind of riding are you doing? Are you breaking the axles in properly? And yes, your axles for a 6" are longer than stock. Best axles on the market are Gorilla and Turner axles. Highlifter just came out with new axles but I have no idea what applications they have them for, and there is no real world reviews on them yet because they have only been out for 2 days.

The break in may be part of your issue. With the angles you are running the joints heat up and get hot. To break them in properly you need to ride it untill they are warm, let them cool, and then continue this process. It states it in the instructions you get with the gorilla axles. Also with that lift you don't much want to cruise at high speeds. Maybe no more than 30mph and only for a very short period of time. This again is because the angle on the axles causes them to get hot and you will destroy your joint.

It just sounds like the person you bought it from went the cheap route on putting in a gear reduction. I looked into gear reductions at one time and heard of people putting gears from a 330 magnum in their sportsman. Highlifter also sells a gear reduction kit, but both of these methods would still allow you to have your high gear and park. You would have to tear the transmission apart in order to see what he did. Or just try to get all the details from him.

Sounds like you bought a can of worms! Too much lift for your riding, and no idea of what parts you got. plan on lots of wrenching till you know what you have and how to use it.
